Students Deliver Valentines to Retirement Home - WKBN - 27 First ...

Valentine's Day came early in Boardman on Monday.

A group of preschool students from Kiddin' Around Day Care took a field trip to visit veterans at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

The students brought teddy bears along to enjoy an indoor picnic with their new friends from the retirement home.

Employees said the residents look forward to these special visits, especially from children.

"Oh, they just love being with the kids. They just love it," said Activity Director Kim Osborn. "Any older person loves being with kids, the veterans especially, they just love seeing kids."

The kids also made valentines for the veterans and spent time creating teddy bear masks.
