Their latest collaboration, <a href="/news/articles/1683947/usher-scream.jhtml">"Scream,"</a> picks up where "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" left off back in 2010. </P><P> </P><P>Usher used <i>that</i> track to convince us to go home with him after a dizzying night of partying, and for "Scream," he's got us back at his pad and he's rocking our world, one fist-pumping moment at a time. While he opted to slow it down on <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/16/usher-diplo-climax-love-affair-song">"Climax,"</a> Usher is back to large-scale dance tracks on <a href="/news/articles/1682140/usher-looking-for-myself.jhtml"><i>Looking for Myself</i></a>'s second single. "And me and Max Martin, we've had success together in the past, and this was a record I felt represented the other side of the [album]." </P><P> </P><P>"Scream" and "Climax" truly are polar-opposite tracks. Where "Climax" sears and broods, "Scream" celebrates and dances. Usher is excited for the chance to show all those sides with the two lead singles from the June 12 release. </P><P> </P><P>"Whereas the first song was a little bit more artistic and a little bit more soulful, and it has done everything, it probably exceeded my expectations, I mean, from the moment I was able to give it away. I was able to kind of be reintroduced in a way musically, and thank you to [producer] Diplo, but 'Scream' is really like the next step. It's just in time for summer and the type of experience that I want people to get out of the album." </P><P> </P><P>But the Atlanta-bred singer notes that the album can't be defined just by "Climax" or "Scream." There's a lot there to keep fans tuning in. "It's a ton of other experiences and a ton of other walks ... as I've had this long journey over the last year [and] every bit of what I've experienced I've put into a creative, artistic way," he said. </P><P> </P><P>As for the video, well, that still has to be shot, but he joked that "Fuerza Bruta" might serve as the perfect backdrop for the clip &#8212; or maybe not. "We might be shooting it while we're here," he laughed. "This is like a movie set, damn near &#8212; sh-- you don't normally see with the launch of an album. 'Hunger Games' Experts Weigh In On 'Catching Fire' Director Francis Lawrence

'I've heard amazing things about him, so it's gonna be a fun ride,' film's co-star Josh Hutcherson says of series' new director.

"Hunger Games" fans are wiping away their goodbye-Gary-Ross tears and getting ready to welcome Francis Lawrence into the world of Panem. If he accepts Lionsgate's offer, the "I Am Legend" director will take over the successful franchise's sequel, "Catching Fire." We spoke to a few "Hunger Games" fansite experts to gauge their thoughts on the director. They agree he was a good choice to helm the film and are putting their faith in Lionsgate's decision.

Hunger Games Examiner Sara Gundell was "really excited" by the news of Lionsgate's offer. She felt that he was the best option of all the rumored directors. "I had been really disappointed when Gary Ross left," she said. "And knowing that Francis Lawrence was going to take over, it got me excited again about the franchise. I think he's going to do really amazing things. And I think of all of the other directors that Lionsgate was considering, or that we know they were considering, he brought kind of everything to the table in my opinion."

As a fan of the previous films he's directed, Arianna Ruiz from Down With the Capitol believes Lawrence can give fans the "Catching Fire" they're greatly anticipating. "I loved 'I Am Legend.' I loved 'Water for Elephants,' especially. So, when I found out that he was chosen to direct 'Catching Fire,' I'm like, he can totally bring a movie that the fans want to see," she said.

Amanda Belcher from The Hob tells us she's trusting Lionsgate's decision. "I'm hoping that Lionsgate chose him because they really thought that he could do the 'Catching Fire' that fans really want to see and that we deserve," she said. "I'm hoping that he can really come through and becomes a fan of the material, and take what screenplay is there and work with Suzanne [Collins] and [producer] Nina [Jacobson] and really pull this together for us."

Meanwhile, "Hunger Games" co-star Josh Hutcherson told The Hollywood Reporter that he's "excited" to meet Lawrence. "I've heard amazing things about him, so it's gonna be a fun ride," he said.

If Peeta Mellark is eager to see Lawrence's vision for the film, count us in!

"Catching Fire" is slated to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.

Paramore Hard At Work On Fourth Album

Singer Hayley Williams says band is working on 'a pretty strange schedule.'

Well, so much for that.

On Wednesday, singer Hayley Williams gave fans a long-awaited update on the band's still-untitled effort, which, from the sounds of it, has not been much of a party so far.

"I've never known what it's like to be home for more than a few weeks at a time that absolutely nothing is going on," wrote Williams in a lengthy post in which she decried how quickly time flies. "The only thing I could think about was if we could snap our fingers and make the 4th album happen so that the next time I looked up, we'd be back on a stage somewhere and not sitting around at home. But you can't just make things like that happen. For something to be great, there has to be some kind of trial or some type of struggle that actually makes it special or valuable to you. Otherwise, anything could be easily taken for granted."

After promising fans last year that they would release new music despite the December 2010 departure of members Josh and Zac Farro, Paramore weren't able to produce a full-length album. They did, however, launch a killer single, "Monster," 
 and a Singles Club
 that served up fresh tracks "Hello Cold World" and "Renegades."

The group, which made it to the Elite Eight in this year's Musical March Madness
, are hard at work on the follow-up to 2009's Brand New Eyes. So far, they've finished at least one song, "Daydreaming," for the album that is being produced by former Beck band member Justin Meldal-Johnsen.

"There's no reason to lie about it, the first few months of writing were ridiculously draining and a lot more of a pain than a pleasure," Williams said. "It was supposed to be fun right? We made it all the way to this point to just struggle some more. So, you can probably imagine that when the flood gates burst this past January and inspiration started filling us up again, we were more than willing to let it take us wherever it wanted. We've written a lot of songs I never thought we would write. And we aren't done yet! The writing will continue even as we enter the studio."

Williams reported that she, bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Taylor York went in to record the track a week-and-a-half ago excited, but unsure if the results would be something they could use. "At the end of our time in the studio, it was clear to us that this was definitely right!" she wrote. "In case you can't tell, we're working on a pretty strange schedule, by our standards. There has never been so much time and care put into a Paramore album. Usually, we are rushing to make a very strict deadline, which so far has just not been right for this record. We cannot assure you it will be out this year. What we can tell you is that from now on, when we go in to create this thing, whether for a day at a time or for a month, you will be kept more informed. It is a total joy to make our fans/family a part of what we do because we couldn't do it without you anyway."

'Cabin In The Woods' Stars Talk Death Scenes

A group of teenagers visiting a remote cabin for a weekend getaway might seem like a predictable setup for a horror movie, but "The Cabin in the Woods" is not your average slasher flick.

Those brave enough to take the trip to the "Woods" over the weekend found that the film's genre takes you off the grid, incorporating elements of not only the horror and thriller genres, but of sci-fi and even comedy as well. If you haven't experienced it yet, go see the movie now! Otherwise we advise that you stop reading this article until you do, because the rest of this story contains major SPOILERS about character deaths.

We're talking mostly about the film's action-packed third act, which features not only the Big Brother element promised in previews, but a bombardment of nightmarish surprises, huge plot twists and plenty of carnage. And with deluges of blood comparable to scenes from "The Shining" come epic death sequences.

Last warning to turn away as Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins take MTV News into SPOILER TERRITORY with regard to two very special interactions their characters have with two others.

"It was so sweet, I remember, when it was coming towards me," Whitford recalled wistfully of filming his scene with the surprisingly grotesque and bloodthirsty merman with whom his character has a Captain Nemo-esque obsession.

"We'd have to stop, and they'd have to spray water on him because he got dried out ... so they had to keep him moist," the actor continued of shooting with the merman, who ends up devouring Whitford's character in a hilariously ironic twist.

"I was looking away at that time," Jenkins chimed in, joking that Whitford really did fall in love with the merman on set and adding that his co-star kept asking for more and more takes with the creature. With regard to Jenkins' character's death, the actor said he enjoyed every minute of it.

"It was really cool, I loved it," Jenkins said about his onscreen stabbing.

"Just meeting the rest of the cast [was cool]!" Whitford added.

"It's the only time I got to see [Kristen Connolly, who plays leading lady Dana], except on the screen, when I confronted her face-to-face," Jenkins revealed.

Up until that scene, Whitford and Jenkins' characters had remained in the control room. This meant that during the movie's production, they had little interaction with the victims of the cabin, who shot primarily in Canada.

"We did it four or five different ways, and I love the take [director Drew Goddard] used — I thought that was really cool," Jenkins said. "But the surprise on her face was the best part of it."

Catholic League President Calls Out The Three Stooges for Total Nunsense

Movie critics are unhappy with the current Three Stooges film because it's terrible.

But The Catholic League is displeased with the new comedy for an entirely different reason, and it's summed up in the following photo:

President Bill Donohue has issued a statement in which he's critical of the idea that this comedy is a faithful homage to the goofy trio.

"Yes, the slapstick is there, along with the groans, pokes, thumps and the like. But the TV show never mocked nuns or showed infants urinating in the face of the Stooges. The film does," Donohue said.

As seen above, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton portrays a nun in the movie, donning a rosary necklace along with a bikini.

Larry David also takes on the role of nun... named Sister Mary-Mengele, likely after the Nazi war criminal Joseph Mengele.

"This movie is not just another remake: it is a cultural marker of sociological significance, and what it says about the way we've changed is not encouraging," says Donohue.

A Fox rep has responded to the criticism by saying "the Stooges have proved over time, laughter is a universal medicine. The nuns that Mr. Donohue alludes to, are in fact, caring, heroic characters in the movie, albeit within the framework of a very broad comedy."

Who needs governments? The ongoing trend toward mobile, social and crowdsourcing apps has led to a wealth of new community-based resources that support or supplant traditional civic and government services. Think Kickstarter instead of the NEA or Canada Council. Or consider the new Circle of 6 app, which is intended to help prevent violence before it happens, by letting users reach out to friends when dicey situations arise, instead of calling 911 after they get out of hand. Circle of 6 is the brainchild of health educator Deb Levine and anti-violence activist Nancy Schwartzman, who have found that it's often easier for people to reach out for help via a screen, and that it's important for groups of friends to offer concrete strategies for supporting each other. It's already won the White House's Apps Against Abuse challenge, and racked up tens of thousands of iPhone downloads. "We are working to get the app in the hands of Android users as soon as possible," says lead developer Christine Corbett Moran (an astrophysicist with a double-major Physics/CS degree from MIT, who develops apps in her copious spare time.) Apps like Circle of 6 are the thin edge of a really interesting wedge.
